Call for Art: Window Exhibition
Massy Arts Society welcomes submissions from visual artists to overtake the street front bay window area of our new gallery space at 23 East Pender Street. Located in the historic Ming Wo building, Massy Arts Society seeks to support interdisciplinary and emerging practices of artists of diverse mediums. To learn more about the history of the building and see images, please explore the following article: https://vancouversun.com/news/local-news/after-more-than-100-years-ming-wo-will-close-its-chinatown-kitchen-shop
The window display is visible to passers-by on street level. As such, it offers a moment of interruption in the day to day routines of many. It receives a lot of sun and would be especially suitable for artworks that can withstand or take advantage of the solar rays. The window is a deep, receded bay window with high ceilings and wood floors. It is well suited to hanging and installation artworks. The space is approximately 50 square feet.
We are looking for experimental, non-conventional forms and work that responds to the specific context in which Massy Arts is situated.
How to submit:
Please send the following to info@massyarts.com with the subject line: Window Exhibition
