Massy Arts Society is calling visual artists to send exhibition proposals for our 2024 programming. If you work through painting, drawing, photography, installation, media and performing arts, send us your idea for an upcoming exhibition!
We work in a collaborative environment, offering a cost-free space in DTES Vancouver + support in promotion and communication, as well as a $500 honorarium for window shows, and $2161 for our main gallery. We are also curating collective shows throughout 2024, and honoraria will be divided between artists chosen to exhibit. We work on a 2-month-long exhibition contract.
Priority:
Massy Arts Society is a community hub dedicated to supporting the practices of Indigenous and over-excluded artists. Priority will be given to Indigenous artists, BIPOC, 2SLBGTQQAI+, or those experiencing disability. We highly recommend applicants to read our Community Care policy at massyarts.com.
Guidelines:
Please provide us with: exhibition title, artist statement (100-200 words), artist bio (100-200 words), artistic CV, and a complete list of works (photos, title, technique, year, and price). When thinking of use, please be mindful of our space’s limitations. Ideally, we invite artists to get to know our gallery before applying.
Send to:
The proposal should be sent in a single email, preferably in a single pdf file, to Massy Arts’ curator and community arts coordinator Rafael Zen at community@massyarts.com.
Deadline:
This call for submission will be open until August 15th (Tue, 11pm, PST).
Feedback:
Artists should expect feedback by November, 2023.
Please send questions to: Rafael Zen / community@massyarts.com
