At The Gallery / Oricha del Norte by Ruby Smith Díaz + Isha Adams

November 15th 2022 – January 12th 2023, Massy Arts will host, Oricha Del Norte, a new window exhibition organized by afro latina artist and educator Ruby Smith Díaz + queer Egyptian/East Indian artist Isha Adams that questions how displacement and enslavement change the ways in which African diaspora peoples honour their spirituality.

In face of the sinister global landscape that shapes our political, aesthetic, and symbolic worlds, Massy Arts hosts between Nov 15, 2022 and Jan 12, 2023 “A Wish To Voice”, a group show curated by arts coordinator Rafael Zen with works by visual artists Nadia Alikashani, Darius Kian, Parvin Peivandi, Mehran Modarres-Sadeghi, Ellie Fernandes, Yasaman Moussavi, and Elmira Sarreshtehdari.

Dead Poets Reading Series: January Edition

On Sunday, January 8 at 3pm, join Massy Arts Society, Massy Books and four fantastic readers for a bi-monthly literary seance: Dead Poets Reading Series.

Readers act as a medium, inviting us to time travel by reading a selection of work by their favourite dead poet. Previously held in North Vancouver and the Vancouver Public Library, Massy Arts Society offers a new home for this longstanding series since it first kicked off in 2007.

A Métis Poet’s Kitchen Party

On Sunday, January 8 at 6pm, join Massy Arts Society, Massy Books and author Jónína Kirton for A Métis Poet’s Kitchen Party—a boisterous evening of celebratory storytelling. Featuring a talented line up of Métis poets including: Délani Valin, Michelle Poirier Brown, Isabelle Hébert and Jónína Kirton.
