The Big Bad: Nehiyaw Visions Of The Future

On Friday, January 27 at 6pm, join Massy Arts Society, Massy Books, Doubleday Canada and Harbour Publishing for The Big Bad: Nehiyaw Visions Of The Future. This double launch celebrates two Nehiyaw authors and their latest works: Bad Cree by Jessica Johns and The Big Melt by Emily Riddle. Haunting and fierce, both Johns and Riddle meditate on kinship and ndn utopia in the era of late capitalism and climate change.

On Thursday, February 16 at 6pm, join Massy Arts Society, Massy Books and Amnesty International Canada for the launch of brand-new podcast, Rights Back at You.

Hosted and produced by Daniella Barreto, the show offers an unflinching look at anti-Black racism, policing, and surveillance in Canada and beyond. The series touches on issues like facial recognition, the war on drugs, defunding the police, and immigration.

At this listening party we’ll hear some of the most gripping audio clips from the season, meet the host, and interact with other special guests including Ketty Nivyabandi, Secretary General Amnesty International Canada (English-Speaking).
