Arts Residency / IndigiNow

November 2022 to March 2023, Massy Arts Gallery will host IndigiNow, an arts residency program for emerging Indigenous visual artists, interdisciplinary artists, performers, and poets. Interested applicants are invited to submit residency proposals that explore contemporary approaches to Indigenous cultural practices.

April 05 – May 05, Massy Arts hosts a new exhibition by artist Dana Qaddah. The show, selected by Vancouver's Capture Photography Festival, is a photography research reflecting on the deteriorating civil conditions in urban centres in Lebanon.

At The Gallery / The Southern Residents by Clare Wilkening

April 05 – May 05, Massy Arts will host a new window installation by ceramic artist Clare Wilkening. For the window pieces, a wall-hanging ceramic installation with over 180 individual tiles + a video installation, the artist represents each actual fish-eating killer whale local to the Salish Sea, a deeply endangered species heavily impacted by colonization, industrialization, and global warming.

On Tuesday, April 05 at 6pm, Massy Arts hosts an opening reception to celebrate ceramic artist Clare Wilkening’s new exhibition: “The Southern Residents". At the event, Wilkening will explain the process behind building a wall-hanging ceramic installation to address colonization, industrialization, and global warming's impact on the killer whale community local to the Salish Sea, a deeply endangered species.
